Raised on a farm in Northern New York, this former Dairy Princess never fired or even held a firearm until last year, when she joined the team at Otis Technology as their marketing coordinator. Cara has since moved from vegetarian to huntress in training. She is a life member of the NRA and a Babes with Bullets alumna who carries a pistol permit and owns her own firearms.

Cara_Peebles_590x400Joining Otis was a way to stay near her hometown and use her outgoing personality to grow her career. Joining the firearms industry has been a new and exciting challenge. Cara handles all public relations functions for Otis and is the company’s media and advertising liaison as well.

“Building relationships and working with the public doesn’t seem like a job; it’s more fun than work, and this industry is so helpful . . . I have already made some great, lifelong industry friends. Plus I get paid to learn how to clean and shoot guns, which totally rocks!”

In 2002 Cara graduated with her BA in Communications Journalism and an English Writing minor from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY. Although she worked three jobs while attending college, her biggest job began the day after graduation, when she became a mother.

Putting family first has been Cara’s priority since that day. Instead of staying in the city of Rochester, she moved home and adjusted back to country life as a city girl. From 2002 to 2008 when she joined Otis, Cara worked in the radio industry as an account executive, helping market businesses, write commercials and create promotions.

Currently she sits on the Lewis County Chamber of Commerce board, the Big Brothers Big Sisters board and the Zoo to Do Committee. Cara is actively involved with the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) and chairs the Otis Invitational Golf Outing for Charity committee. She also supports and participates in the Great American Heart Walk and the Making Strides against Breast Cancer Walk.

When not busy working or staying active in the community, Cara is spending time with her family. Proud mother of two little boys (Ty, 7 and Trey, 5), Cara is also helping raise her partner Luke’s two little girls (Braedon, 11 and MaKenna, 8). Together the family of six enjoys skiing and snowboarding, spending time at their camp on the lake, traveling, going to church and teaching the kids to enjoy the great outdoors.

When Cara has free time, she enjoys running, boxing, scrapbooking, spending time with her girlfriends, hitting the spa and of course, target shooting!

Now there is a woman with a full plate and yet every time I see Cara she is smiling! Didn’t know she was a Dairy Princess so thank you for that “tidbit”. My mind is already trying to figure out a way to make that into a good skit at the next “Babes” camp Cara attends. Cara – WELCOME to The WOMA!
