Shauna Stephenson marries Cole Sherard
Outdoor writer Shauna Stephenson married Cole Sherard, a criminal defense attorney, August 7, 2010, in Saratoga, Wyoming. The two were married under the cedar planks of a Frank Lloyd Wright inspired arbor built by the bride’s father.
The couple met in Saratoga at the historic Wolf hotel and restaurant. Sherard had just come from a day on the river and Stephenson was passing through town on a writing assignment. After a couple of laps around the bar, Sherard finally asked Stephenson to join him for dinner. Almost three years later they returned, friends and family in tow, to say their vows.
The wedding party included family members from both sides, spanning three generations of Sherards and Cole’s five-year-old daughter, Makensie.
Sherard, a former fly fishing guide, currently has a law practice in Wheatland, Wyoming, where he specializes in criminal defense. Stephenson is the outdoor editor at the Wyoming Tribune Eagle and freelances for publications such as Gray’s Sporting Journal, Wyoming Wildlife and the Drake. While they plan to stay in Wheatland, both feel most at home in the drift boat.
