Lenee Landis is living a dream. After raising 6 kids, working as a private investigator, then project manager for security logistics on special events with red carpet which you may have seen on TV, she has the opportunity to write and shoot.
Love of words came first: Lenee’s daddy said she had to have all her Golden books in the crib, no dolls, no teddy. “I loves word, they are delicious!” says Lenee. She was against guns, a story that lives elsewhere in many more words. With the patience of her husband Jack, Lenee learned guns don’t go off spontaneously. And, to boot, her kids all shoot.

Becky Lou Lacock’s Outdoor adventures began just a short time ago, with a weekend workshop, B.O.W. ‘Becoming an Outdoors Woman’ in the Spring of 2000. Becky Lou was feeling a little adventurous, so for one of her 4 classes, she chose “Intro to Shotgun.” She had never shot firearms of any kind, and decided that this would be the perfect platform to learn! Hitting the second clay target began her passion for shooting — she absolutely LOVED it.

NEWTOWN, CONN.- CMG Marketing & Events and Triple Curl Public Relations & Advertising are pleased to announce that the National Shooting Sports Foundation has made a three-year commitment to become the title sponsor of SHOT Show Media Day at the Range. The annual SHOT Show Media Day at the Range, held the day before SHOT Show, has become one of the largest gatherings of media in the industry with more than 600 in attendance this past January. This event gives industry media the opportunity to handle, shoot and review new products and services from over 75 leading manufacturers, non-profit and conservation groups.
“We are extremely pleased to be the title sponsor of SHOT Show Media Day at the Range. This event has a long history of value to those who participate and is a natural fit for NSSF as owner of the SHOT Show,” said Chris Dolnack, senior vice president and chief marketing officer of NSSF. “The working media has become a major part of the SHOT Show. The SHOT Show Media Day at the Range is a great opportunity for our members and exhibitors since the media actually has an opportunity to go out and test new products. Last year a record number of media attended, and I think the cooperative alliance with CMG Marketing & Events and Triple Curl Public Relations & Advertising will make this an even larger and more meaningful event.”
“We could not be more pleased with the commitment that the NSSF is making to this event,” said Cathy Williams and Cory Cannon, co-producers of Media Day. “This long-term agreement shows the continued commitment of Media Day to the industry and nearly 2,000 members of the media community that every manufacturer counts on to broaden the reach of their products to the end consumer,” stated Ms. Williams.
Manufacturer registration is now taking place for SHOT Show Media Day 2012, which will be held on January 16 at the Boulder City Pistol and Rifle Range. It is anticipated that the 2012 event will be full to capacity. Additional sponsorship opportunities are available. Visit www.media-day.com for registration and sponsorship details.
Media registration will begin taking place in the coming months. This partnership between the NSSF and Media Day will allow for the media to register for the event when registering to attend SHOT Show.

Survival of the Fastest

Filed under Business to Business: TIPS for WOMA members!
How much can you get done in a day? Want to spend more time in the outdoors but just can’t seem to find the time? Survival in this business downturn and staying sane during the process is not easy. You must be faster at everything you do. Learn how to have the energy to accomplish it all by sleeping faster. Focus on leveraging every minute of the day by learning faster time management skills. Organize your outdoor gear so you can get to nature faster.
Sleep faster: when your head hits the pillow, think of all the wonderful and joyful events of your day. Don’t focus on how awful it was or how you didn’t get everything done. While doing this, concentrate on deep, diaphragmatic breathing by putting one hand on your belly and pushing your belly button slowly up and down. When (not if) your mind wanders to the dark side, bring it back to the happiness of the day.
Time manage faster: learn to stop yourself several times a day and ask yourself. “Is this the best use of my time right now?” Ah, the answer is probably NO! So shift what you are doing to something more productive. Do you have a “To Do” list that is overwhelming? Play a trick on yourself and ask, “If I had time to do just one, which one would I do?” Then, as NIKE says, Just Do It!
Organize faster: Keep your gear in a “ready to go” duffle. I have my green bag that has all my camo, gloves, long underwear, turtles, mask, hats, and everything else packed. I know my backpack always has my binoculars, water bottle, snacks, pad/pencil, Garmin, rain poncho, sunscreen, first aid kit and other essentials already packed. I don’t have to think.
Learn to grab and go. Practice your time management on every turn. Build your energy by allowing yourself to sleep soundly. You too will be part of the Survival of the Fastest team! Off for Turkey hunting…
What else do you do?
