Pistol shooting is fun, thumbing hundreds of rounds into magazines during a range session is anything but! The name sounds weird but the UPLULA will save your thumbs which makes shooting even more enjoyable.
It’s made of one of today’s magic plastics, reinforced polymer. It slides over the top of the magazine and when you squeeze it and pull down, it presses the follower down so you can simply slip the round of ammo in place. Release, it, squeeze and pull it again, add another round – rinse, lather, repeat, You can load one round a second in the magazine once you get the hang of it. I tend to compete at everything and race myself to see how fast I can fill the mag. It really does take the drudgery, and sore thumbs out of the process.
If you’ve ever been to a Gunsite class, you know that when you’re not shooting you’d better be refilling your magazines. Other students saw mine, asked about it, tried it and immediately bought every one the pro shop had.
I know many women resent the “pink” trend – you know, men thinking they can reach the women’s market by simply coloring their product pink. Well, WOMA’s own Deb Ferns is a pink freak and had a run of the UPLULAs made in pink for the Babes With Bullets web site. You can get a pink one from her, or a plain black one from Brownells.
Go to the Brownells site, http://www.brownells.com/shooting-accessories/speedloaders-accessories/magazine-speedloaders/semi-auto-pistol-uplula-magazine-loader-prod23962.aspx and watch the video of it in use. You’ll immediately understand the value of saving time to spend on what you prefer– shooting.
I’m thinking about a pink one for myself. My range bag tends to look like a deep dark hole in bright sun and that pink UPLULA might just be easier to find – besides, no other guy will steal it from me, unless he’s as crafty as I am!
