The Road After Russia…Tracy & Lanny Barnes are settling right into their new lives and careers following the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. As you can see from their busy fall below these gals are always on the go and ALWAYS participating in something worthwhile! Now that they are moving into the “Pro Multi-gun” ranks consider sponsoring them for an event you have coming up. Deb Ferns, WOMA Founder and Board Member
Late in October Lanny participated in the Lady Brownell’s 3-gun match in Atlanta, then she jumped into the car with her new husband (Grant) and they drove to Scott City, Kansas, for the Annual Governor’s Ringneck Classic. As guests of the Governor, they were teamed with the task of helping to inspire the local kids and help raise money for these local charities; The Northwest Kansas Conservation Foundation, Friends of Lake Scott State Park, Scott County Historical Society, Scott County Veterans Memorial, & the Healy Community Health Center. Their donation of Olympic Clothing also helped raise over $2,000. Lanny says “We were also fortunate enough to go hunting with 4 youth from all over Kansas, as well as a lady who was the first West Point Graduate for her Northern Cheyenne Tribe. At the event we not only hunted pheasants, but we also had a sporting clays competition.” Lanny ended up 2nd Flight Champion for that competition.
Now Lanny and Tracy have a short break in 3-gun competitions, but are heading up to the NRA Whittington Center in Raton, NM, to be mentors on a Freedom Hunters Elk hunt. There they will mentor and guide female wounded vets to their first elk. Stay tuned for more photos on that event coming up!
The twins also made the cover of Modern Sporting Rifle, so check them out in the stores they should be hitting shelves nationwide.
